“I thought I’d made it clear we have a no abduction policy”

My head was throbbing with pain and I tried remembering what happened. I touched the spot to find a small lump on the back of my head. That's going to be there for awhile

“She wasn’t cooperating.” The two voices sounded familiar but I couldn’t place it. “What did you expect me to do?”

I slowly opened my eyes to a pair of beautiful electric blue eyes staring at me. Without thinking, instinct kicked in and I punched the owner hard, hitting his nose dead-on.

Whoever it was had moved down to hold his face and I saw the door leading outside to the- Why am I at the motel? Screw this I need to get out. I ran for the door but a pair of arms held my waist and lifted me up with ease. I tried to struggle but all I could do was kick my legs violently. If I was going to get kidnapped, I wasn’t going to go down without a fight. “Let me go! HELP!” One of the hands came up and covered my mouth, making me struggle more.

“Cass, damn it! This is what happens. I thought I told you about personal space.” The gruff voice spoke again and I turned my head as much as I could to see Agent Page in casual clothes walking over to the guy I hit.

Wait. What? I was so confused. Aren’t these the cops? I glanced up to see Agent Plant was the one trying to restrain me. They shouldn’t be doing this if they’re the real police. I think he noticed I wasn’t trying to get away because I was sat down at the edge of the bed. Now they were both talking with the one that I assaulted. Oh shit I just punched a cop. I looked at him to apologize and my breath was caught in my throat. “You’re that - That flash guy that was standing above the woman outside my house!”

‘Cass’ looked confused for a second. I held my head in my hands, trying to recall everything that happened within the past 24 hours. Some lady dies in front of my house, which was going to have to be redone, for some reason, my life was in danger from something I had no idea about and now a migraine was threatening to form. “What in ever-living crap is happening?” I asked slowly trying to figure it out but my thoughts were coming up empty.

“_____,  I know everything-” Agent Page said running his hand through his hair. His smooth tone was trying to ease me but it wasn’t going to do the trick.

“No, I’m not a child. So cut the bull. I don’t want the honey coated version.” I stood up. “What the hell is happening and why is my life suddenly in danger?”

There was collective sigh and it made me worry for a second. “The brothers you were told about.” The taller agent said pointing to him and his partner. “That’s us. And it was an angel that told you that because you are being baited into the war that’s going on with Heaven and Hell. We don't know everything but we're trying to figure everything out.”

There was silence for a second before I started laughing at them. This is ridiculous. Who’s going to believe that? “A war between heaven and hell. Whoo.” I wiped a fake tear from my eye. “That’s a good one. You expect me to believe that angels and demons actually exist. Come on. What’s really going on?” The three of them looked at me and I shifted from one foot to the other.

No one spoke for a second until Cass stood up. “Your family comes from the long line of the archangel Gabriel. The other angels want to use the remaining grace that’s inside of you to 'resurrect' him. Forcing him to join the side of heaven.”  The seriousness in his voice and face was scaring me.

This is a joke. I’m being pranked. I scoffed hoping they would just quit already but the look on their faces suggested otherwise. Despite wanting to sit down, I grabbed one of the unopened bottles of beer from the small kitchen table and drank it halfway down. Maybe this will make sense if I’m buzzed. “Alright. What are your last names then?” I waved my bottle between the ‘agents’. “Your real names. Not the last names of the Zeppelin members.” I can't believe I didn't notice before.

‘Agent Page’ looked slightly amused, sporting a half smirk. “My name is Dean, this is my little brother Sam. We’re the Winchesters and you already met Cas.” Winchesters. That name rang through my head as I took another drink. That’s the name the ‘angel’ used. I sighed as the realization that this was way bigger than me flood over me. Guess everything is true. I drank the rest of the alcohol. “Now is there anyone that you can stay with until we figure something out?” Dean asked.

Nodding my head, I went to reach for the phone in my back pocket and realized I was still sporting sweatpants and a t-shirt. “Here.” Sam said handing me his phone. I dialed my brothers number which thankfully I memorized. If I tell him about the accident to my house, he might just offer for me to stay there for a few weeks. Til everything gets sorted. No need to tell him everything.

“Hey Fred, I know it’s late but-”

“I was wondering how long it was going to take for you to call.” I stopped.

That wasn’t my brothers voice.

I looked at the brothers and Sam grabbed the phone putting it on speaker. I sat down, not trusting my legs. “I already know that you’re under the Winchesters protection.” There was a snarky little giggle and I gritted my teeth. “So since you’re caught up, let’s make a deal. Your brother’s safe return” There was a pause and I could hear my brothers wheezing. He needs his inhaler. “For yours.” I couldn’t even look at anyone I was so mad. “See you at the railway station. And I don’t think he has much time, so do hurry.” Click.

I got up and threw the empty bottle across the room, hearing it shatter by the other bed. I was mad. Beyond mad. No one messes with my family and gets away with it. I went to walk out but the three stood blocking the door. “We can help you get your brother back but you need to calm down.” Sam said, his arms up defensively. I wanted to kick him right there just to get through. And had he not been two feet taller than me, I would've.

“There had been nothing but bad things since I seen him,” Pointing at Cass “and that women. Who says I need to calm down?”

Cass spoke. “That women was an angel trying to grab you. I had to -” His eyes glazed over and I could tell he was trying to pick his words carefully. “This is hard and probably confusing but we are here to help.” His voice was calming and it might’ve been the mixture of exhaustion, beer and adrenaline pounding through my system but I didn’t want to argue anymore. I was tired, Fred was in trouble and I was the only thing that could get him help.

“What can we do?” I asked sitting down.
